The division expresses it thanks to General Chair Joe Carignan, Technical Program Chair Jim Byrne, and the rest of the organizing committee who made this meeting a great success.

Co-Sponsored by the DD&R and FCWM. - NRC Decommissioning Workshop, April 20 and 21, 2005 " Rockville, MD. NRC's Decommissioning Directorate is holding this Workshop to: (1) inform stakeholders of NRC's Integrated Decommissioning Improvement Plan, including regulatory and program management improvements; (2) discuss the NRC staff development of guidance for issues resulting from the staff's 2003 analysis of factors impacting the implementation of the License Termination Rule, and; (3) solicit feedback and suggestions from stakeholders on guidance, decommissioning lessons learned, and other planned improvements

ANS will be celebrating its 50th anniversary at the Annual Meeting. In addition, 2004 is the 25th anniversary of the TMI 2 Accident. DD&R will be supporting the conference theme with several sessions.

DD&R supports the meeting theme of “Nuclear Science and Technology: Meeting the Global Industrial and R&D Challenges of the 21st Century” with 5 panel sessions planned in Track 5 “Decommissioning and Reutilization. The Call for Papers is available at www.ans.org/meetings.
- 4th Pacific Basin Nuclear Conference and Technology Exhibit “New Technologies for a New Era” in Honolulu Hawaii, - March 21-25, 2004
The American Nuclear Society is hosting the PBNC under the auspices of the Pacific Nuclear Council. Jim Rang at jsrang@chartermi.net and Steve Bossart, representing DD&R, are soliciting papers on D&D topics. Conference specifics and additional information is available at www.ans.org/meetings.
- 2003 Annual Meeting, June 1-5, 2003, in San Diego California, Town and Country Resort and Convention Center Theme: "The Nuclear Technology Expansion - Unlimited Opportunities!" DD&R is sponsoring an embedded topical, along with cosponsor FCWM, entitled “Decommissioning and Spent-Fuel Management” at this meeting. We have an exceptional turnout of 75 papers submitted with eleven one half-day concurrent sessions scheduled over 3 days (Monday afternoon through Thursday morning).
Track 1: “Decommissioning Progress, Lessons Learned and Industry Initiatives” and Track 2: “Spent Fuel and Waste Disposal Forum” session schedule, chairs and room locations are shown below. - 2002 ANS Winter Meeting, November 17-21, 2002 in Washington DC, Omni Shoreham Hotel Theme: "Building the World Nuclear Community- Strategies for the Deployment of New Nuclear Technologies". A combination of eight paper and panel sessions are planned in Track 5, sponsored by DD&R, with four each in Decommissioning and Life Extension.
